Hi Scoutboy, yes you can fly there. You just need to remember the rules about not flying over people and the fact that you can only fly part way out over the bay. Boundary Bay Airport's airspace encompasses a big chunk of the bay and is a no fly zone. Use the drone site selection tool to see restrictions. I would safely get 4-6 hours out of it when at low rpm.

I'm a pretty big guy (6'2", 240lbs) and with all my gear on board it still rides quite level. I now have a front floor board on it and can move some weight up front.

How heavy is it worth the investment?

Definitely worth the investment, best headlamp I have had to date. It is somewhat heavy and I am still looking for a cable to move the battery off my head strap, down to my belt. If I can do that, this thing is a breeze to wear for long durations.
